Independently run reading groups
The library service can also support independently run book groups across South Lanarkshire by providing:
- A pack with advice on starting up and running a reading group
- Longer loans on a dedicated group ticket
- No fines, reservations or overdue charges
How to Apply:
Your group will need a special reading group card to borrow these sets of books. The main group contact can apply for a card at their local library. Proof of name and address is required.
Ways to book:
When your group membership has been set up, you will be contacted to arrange delivery of your first set of books. When you are ready to borrow another set, you can either contact Liz Patrick at Hamilton Town House Library directly, or staff at your local library will be happy to contact her on your behalf. This can be done via e-mail, telephone or in person. We need to know the name of the book, when you need the book and where the books will be picked up. It is best to have an alternative title in mind in case your first choice is on loan to another group. The group contact will be responsible for reserving, collecting and making sure books are returned.
